Position Title:
Assistant/Associate Professor
Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary duties are to teach a wide variety of undergraduate statistics courses using an innovative and modern curriculum. These duties may include the teaching of master’s or doctorate level service courses. Secondary duties include: collaboratively supporting the Statistical Consulting Center by providing expertise to university and non-university clients, actively maintaining a record of scholarship, and eagerly participating in program, departmental, and university-wide service related activities.
Position Qualifications:
Required: 1) Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics with an anticipated completion date by August 2014, and 2) Evidence of excellence in teaching and strong communication skills. Preferred (no particular order): Knowledge of both applied and theoretical statistics, the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, interest in curriculum development, research involving undergraduate students, and grant writing, interest and ability to consult with university and non-university personnel, and expertise in data science/analytics or statistical education.
