Position Title: Assistant Professor, Tenure Track | CRC 2, Statistical Genomics

Duties & Responsibilities: The Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics (CMMT) and the Department of Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in conjunction with the Department of Statistics in the Faculty of Science invite applications for a Canada Research Chair (CRC) - Tier II, in the area of Statistical Genomics. This will be a tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a successful independent research program and engage in developing and applying statistical methods to understand genome-scale data, catalyzing synergies between Statistics and Genetics. As a faculty member within both the Department of Medical Genetics and the Department of Statistics, the successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate teaching activities as well as make academic service contributions.

Position Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field awarded within the past 10 years. Applicants must also demonstrate excellence or potential for excellence in both teaching and research.
