Sr. Price Optimization Analyst
Duties & Responsibilities:
Sr. Pricing Optimization Analyst Marketshare is growing and looking for an extraordinary Sr. Price Optimization Analysts to join our team. Our Saas offerings capitalize on use of big analytics on big data to help Fortune 500 companies optimize their advertising and marketing spend. Our goal is to deliver innovative and intuitive user experience for brand marketers to make better budget allocation decisions on a day to day basis. We have created an advanced predictive analytics big data platform on the cloud that crunches large volumes of data, builds and applies models to allow the marketers to run what-if scenarios on real life budget allocation situations and get a recommendation on better allocation. In this role you will use your theoretical and applied experience in operations research and revenue management, with emphasis on pricing optimization, to work on development of our pricing product suite. This role is in the Science and Innovation Department which works with the internal client project teams involving large scale custom data sets, advanced time series and cross section econometrics for demand generation, and proprietary simulation and optimization algorithms. The specific mission is to build the most sophisticated analytical engine that delivers a user equalizing product experience that puts actionable insights front and center while keeping the complexity completely behind the curtain. Responsibilities: * Create technical and functional designs of models that best support our pricing and revenue management product platform. * Help with the design, specification and hands-on development of complex demand modeling (forecasting and elasticity estimations) and pricing optimization solutions. * Provide on-going thought leadership to innovation of our methods and intellectual property. * Help develop processes and technology with the goal of radically cutting cycle time for simulation and optimization projects. * Represent MarketShare with clients as well as at industry events and selected scientific & trade forums as appropriate. * Invent and apply science-based math in new spaces such as real time pricing, addressable media, competitive dynamics and associated goal seeking optimization for stakeholders in the industry, as needed and if appropriate. * Providing on-going thought and science leadership to innovation and IP development for MarketShare (e.g. leveraging background to innovate MarketShare’s centers of excellence). * Promote team-oriented working environment with a high level of personal commitment and accountability and a continued focus on quality and efficiency. * Contribute to increasing team output through innovation and focus, and deliver relevant, scalable, innovative products, concept to successful implementation while going Mach III with your hair on fire
Position Qualifications:
Must Haves: (please highlight your experience specifically with enterprise Saas based predictive analytics products) * Bachelors or Master’s Degree(or equivalent combination of education and experience) in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or quantitative discipline, required. * Ph.D. or Masters in Operations Research preferred. * 5 + years’ experience in Applied Mathematics, Revenue Management, Operations Research, Statistics or related field, integrating mathematical concepts with business principles. * A good team player, high level of personal commitment & 'can do' attitude. * Experience in developing demand forecasting and/or pricing models and revenue management algorithms, with hands on knowledge of advanced operations research modeling techniques of forecasting and optimization. * Proficiency with one or more statistical and optimization packages and programming languages such as MATLAB (optimization toolbox), Python (scientific stack), CPLEX, SAS, R. Expertise in SQL. * Creative thinker - able to develop unique methods of analysis where traditional methods do not yield results. * Capability to drive research and analysis initiatives from project design through product development. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills are must. * A strong orientation and understanding of working with client facing deadlines is a must. * Experienced candidates from hotel, airlines, or real estate pricing and revenue management are encouraged to apply. * Experience specifically in marketing engineering, mathematical economics is helpful. * Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Mining Applications is also helpful. * Exposure to marketing science and mathematical economics is helpful.
