Position Title: Assistant Professor, Statistics

Duties & Responsibilities: GRINNELL COLLEGE. Tenure-track position in Statistics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, starting Fall 2014. Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) in Statistics or related discipline preferred; Instructor (ABD) or Associate Professor possible. Grinnell College is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts college. The Mathematics and Statistics Department, located in a newly renovated, well-equipped environment, is dedicated to providing its students with strong mathematical and statistical training in keeping with the liberal arts tradition. The College's curriculum is founded on a strong, individually-mentored advising system and close student-faculty interaction. There are few college-wide requirements beyond the completion of a major. The teaching schedule of five courses over two semesters will include courses in all levels of our undergraduate statistics curriculum; approximately every three years, one course will be Tutorial (a writing course for first-year students, oriented toward a topic of the instructor's choice). Candidates with experience with data-driven courses, courses with hands-on projects, or undergraduate research projects will receive strong consideration.
