Duties & Responsibilities: About the Position: A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available immediately in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division (VIDD) of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC), Seattle, WA. FHCRC provides a highly interactive and supportive environment for junior investigators to grow and develop their future career; it consistently ranks in the top 20 best places to work for postdocs, as surveyed by The Scientist. Major Duties: The successful applicant will work primarily on statistical methods development under the guidance of Dr. Ying Huang for research related to the use of biomarkers and surrogate endpoints in cancer and HIV AIDS. Data collected by the HIV Vaccine Trial Network (HVTN) studies and the cancer Early Detection and Research Network (EDRN) will be used as a basis for the methodological works.
Position Qualifications:
PhD degree in biostatistics/statistics; strong theoretical background and programming skills; strong oral and written communication skills; strong independent problem solving skills. Excellence in R is required. Proficiency in C/C++ a plus. Experience with missing data methods, variable selection, biomarker evaluation, high-dimensional data methods, causal inference, survival analysis, or clinical study design a plus.
