Position Title: Mathematical Statistician, GS-1529-11/12

Duties & Responsibilities: The incumbent will plan coordinate and execute health-related studies of marked difficulty and responsibility, applying and modifying established methods and apply modeling techniques and procedures in conducting analysis to improve sample surveys or experimental designs and to conduct evaluations of data collection, reduction and processing. Perform evaluation of methodology used in specified health program studies to ensure the results are valid and reliable. Make recommendations to others to accept, adopt and act on recommendations and determinations. Advise concerning statistical matter and administer or perform professional work requiring the design, development and adaptation of mathematical methods and techniques to statistical processes or research in the basic theories of statistics where such research will advance the specialty public health program research methods. Evaluate data resulting from application of mathematical statistic tools, model, method and techniques to the public health area. Design and develop new mathematical statistical models, methods and/or techniques such as sample and survey designs for related data collection. Monitor and maintain center standards regarding survey design and methodology there pertinent to the assigned public area.

Salary Range: $62,467.00 to $97,333.00 / Per Year
