Position Title:
Chair, Department of Biostatistics and Biomedical Informatics
Duties & Responsibilities:
Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a senior cancer biostatistician, bioinformaticist, or computational biologist to lead the growth and development of its Department of Biostatistics and Biomedical Informatics. The Department currently has 9 full-time faculty who are engaged in original research in quantitative science as well as collaborative research in basic, clinical/translational, and population sciences with Center members. Resources for conducting research include the Center’s innovative Total Cancer Care Program, an integrated repository of clinical and research data and biospecimens collected on thousands of cancer patients from a state-wide and national affiliate network of treatment providers. The Department is closely aligned with the Center’s shared resources in biostatistics and cancer informatics, which currently have 14 doctoral and master’s level staff members.
Position Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have Ph.D. or M.D. and relevant research and administrative experience as well as an outstanding publication record and outstanding history of personal or collaborative peer-reviewed funding. Appointment at the level of Associate / Senior Member requires a minimum of five years experience at the Assistant / Associate Professor level. The Center is affiliated with the University of South Florida and university appointments are available, as applicable. Located in Tampa, Florida, this position requires someone who can appreciate the sunshine, great beaches, year-round golf, and easy living associated with the Gulf Coast of Florida.
