Position Title:
Scientist (Statistical Analyst) Job # 6-13-0002-2
Duties & Responsibilities:

The Scientist (Statistical Analyst) and Senior Scientist (Sr. Statistical Analyst) positions are full-time positions within the Analytics group at Clarity Services. Key responsibilities include: • Prepare datasets and conduct analyses to help lenders make better credit decisions using Clarity data • Identify ways to reduce credit risk and fraud losses, while increasing customer acceptance and/or conversion rates • Develop and validate risk scoring models that demonstrate value/predictiveness of Clarity data and effectively rank-order consumers based on specified performance measure (first payment default, serious delinquency, fraud, conversion,…) • Design and conduct analyses, formulate case studies, and develop white papers/presentation materials to position Clarity Services as industry leader • Present findings/recommendations to key prospects and existing clients to demonstrate value of Clarity data • Champion internal initiatives to enhance efficiency of Analytics group • Conduct more complex, ad hoc client-specific analyses • Manage scoring model development and validation activities (Clarity and third-party)
Position Qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in related field (applied math, statistics, engineering, computer science, business…), Must have Master’s Degree for Sr. Scientist • 2+ years experience, 4+ years relevant experience for Sr. Scientist • Proficient with data mining/analysis software (SQL, Excel, SAS, Knowledge Studio,…) • Solid understanding of exploratory data analysis, segmentation, predictive model development techniques • Proven experience working with large data sets (creation, cleansing,…) • Solid presentation and communication skills • Ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines • Knowledge of consumer lending, consumer risk management preferred • Previous experience building and validating credit scoring models a plus • Permanent residency required
