Position Title:
Financial Risk Analyst
Duties & Responsibilities:
Retail Center of Excellence (COE) performs a number of activities to support the Global Retail Risk/ Finance and Citi Regulatory Reporting requirements for Retail products. The Financial Risk Analyst will be part of a team responsible for researching, analyzing and responding to analytical inquiries that impact credit risk parameters and ultimately Basel II/III Risk Weighted Assets and Capital Requirements for Global Consumer Businesses. Incumbent will work closely with Risk coordinators, modeling experts and Credit and Operational Risk Analytics (CORA) to perform root cause investigative trend analysis on credit risk parameters. This function requires an individual with solid credit risk analytical skills who can work with large volumes of complex data. Good team work, leadership and organization skills. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively present analytical responses to key stakeholders. Incumbent will be a member of team of analysts and responsibilities will include: • Address analytical inquiries related to variations in risk drivers and risk parameter estimates of a diverse range of underlying consumer products such as Mortgages, Credit Cards, Personal Installment Loans, Student Loans, etc. • Perform critical User Acceptance Testing (UAT) functions including meticulous analysis of risk parameter results to conclusively ascertain approval/ denial of historical restatement requests into production environment. • Perform Portfolio Parameter Estimation Analysis and socialize the results with risk partners. • Review Cluster Validation reports and analyze Delinquency Band Time series of Probability of default. Review the analytical results with the Risk Coordinators. • Provide crucial risk parameter and RWA analytical support to businesses to facilitate successful quarterly risk parameter signoff and GRD Attestation. • Analyze Finance and Risk variances identified on FFIEC 101 regulatory reports via Basel Reporting Investigations (BRI). • Drive Data Input Prescreening analysis. • Address any Basel II related business inquiries (model, parameters, submissions, technology, finance, reporting, etc)
Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Economics or Finance required. MBA preferred. • 3+ years Finance and Credit Risk experience. • 1+ years experience at large financial institution. • Knowledge of SAS required • Proficiency in Credit Risk concepts. • Previous exposure to Basel II preferred. • Must possess excellent analytical background and skill sets to understand credit risk modeling and application of data. • Demonstrated experience in data tracing. • Must be able to work with large volumes of data from disparate sources. • Consumer banking products experience or exposure is preferred. • Exposure to global processes and teamwork across various locations and cultures desirable. • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills required; Knowledge of Oracle SQL Developer required; • Strong interpersonal/communication skills (oral and written) and confidence to work with risk coordinators, model experts, Credit and Operational Risk Analytics group and all levels of management. • Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions. • Experience working with a variety of financial or risk platforms. • Willingness to work flexible hours. • Ability to multi-task • Must be proactive, goal-oriented and strategic thinker.
