Position Title:
Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Statistical Genetics
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health. The Division currently includes a total of 18 Doctoral and Master’s level statisticians who have expertise in clinical trials, epidemiologic methods, survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, frailty models, statistical genetics and genomics, and missing data methods. The qualified candidate will join a team of statisticians who specialize in the development of statistical and computational methods to address problems in genomic research. Current projects include the design and analysis of high-throughput experiments based on next-generation sequencing and microarray technologies, genetic/epigenetic mapping of complex diseases, and integrative analysis of genomic data.
Position Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in biostatistics/statistics, computational biology or related field and excellent programming skills (R and Python/Perl/C/C++). Candidates should also possess some background in molecular biology and genomics. In addition, experience in computational genomics (next generation sequencing and high-throughput genomics) is highly desirable.
