Position Title: Junior Biostatistician / Staff Biostatistician

Duties & Responsibilities: Under general guidance, the individual will provide research design and statistical analysis support and collaborations to diverse research projects; assist in report and paper writing, develop training materials, grant applications, and perform related tasks as assigned.

Position Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: A). Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Statistics or Biostatistics. B). Experience: At least one year of full-time research design and statistical data analyses experience, with demonstrated professional maturity. Experience in interacting with multiple research investigators, and providing statistical support. In-depth experience with the statistical programming. C). Knowledge: Experience and background in the use of advanced biostatistical techniques applicable to biomedical research. Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word computer programs. Excellent knowledge and skills of at least two statistical software packages, e.g., SAS, R, SPSS, STATA, etc. Training and/or experience in several of the following statistical related areas is needed: experimental design, multiple regression, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, logistic regression, categorical data analysis, clinical trials methodology, and bioinformatics. D). Abilities and Skills: Demonstrated ability to plan and organize assigned activities. Capable of multi-tasking under the demanding conditions in a dynamic environment. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to set and adjust priorities in coordination with other Core faculty and staff. Ability to work effectively with staff and administrators of various departments and organizations, as necessary. Ability to maintain highly sensitive, confidential materials. Self-motivated and enjoy the challenge of analyzing complex problems and independently developing possible solutions. Must have critical thinking and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D.-level course work and research experience or degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer sciences. Teaching experience. Experience working with a clinical trial data coordinating center or a CRO. Experience working with large databases. Experience working in a medical center setting or familiar with medical terminology.
