Position Title:
Senior Scientist - Economist
Duties & Responsibilities:
Work closely with our ad systems group to analyze and model complex advertising data. Design and develop solutions for increasing yield on a rich inventory of ads. Analyze and develop key mechanisms in the revenue pipeline addressing questions around pricing and inventory forecasting. Participate in cross-functional revenue projects and initiatives.
Position Qualifications:
Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as Econometrics, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Actuarial Science or another quantitative discipline +2 years of relevant work experience Expert knowledge of an analysis tool such as R, Matlab or Stata (preferably R); Coursework in game theory or auction theory Familiarity with relational databases or SQL Strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data Ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner Recommended: Expert in Statistical Analysis and Theories in Probability Experience in scripting for data analysis (Perl, Awk, etc) Working knowledge in experimental design and evaluation. Working knowledge in observational study and propensity score matching. Working knowledge in survey design and meta analysis
