Position Title: Academic Analytic Researcher

Duties & Responsibilities: • Performs research, data collection, organization and analysis related to academic performance and implementation of programs at K12 schools (public and private) and in schools that procure our courses to be presented by the CAO team for both internal and external audiences; • Extract data from multiple sources and assemble tables and cubes using common identifiers. Scrub, parse and sort data based on best practices, industry standards, corporate policies and research specifications; • Build and maintains tabular summaries and pivot tables; • Conduct descriptive and inferential analyses using SPSS or another enterprise statistical software package; • Participate in the design and deployment of proprietary statistical models and algorithms based on academic and business needs; • Drafts reports and presentations summarizing academic research that provide high-level overviews of methodology (design and analysis) and major conclusions, constraints or cautions, and next steps; • Supports the Vice President, Education Statistics and the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) in working with the Enterprise & Learning Technology (ELT) team to help develop systems related to academic data collection and reporting; • Collects data routinely and independently as requested to monitor and report on implementation of specific initiatives in the managed schools.

Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Analytics, Statistics, Computational Mathematics or a related field AND • Five (5) years of experience with a wide range of statistical methods and assessment strategies related to extracting, preparing, analyzing and reporting quantitative and qualitative data OR • Equivalent combination of education and experience Certificates and Licenses: None required. OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES • Experience in the field of K-12 academic research pertaining to school effectiveness and student achievement • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with other professional staff • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Advanced computer skills, particularly with statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time • Ability to pass required background check PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience with SQL and database technologies • Experience in the graphical design of information and knowledge representation • Coursework or training specific to research design, evaluation, and statistical analysis • Awareness of current trends and directions in K-12 research, assessment, standards and compliancy/regulations • Experience with producing materials for public review EOE and Drug Free Workplace
