Position Title:
Senior Biostatistician-Deputy Director-Job ID 5869BR
Duties & Responsibilities:
Westat is seeking an experienced individual to serve as a senior biostatistician and Deputy Director of the Biostatistics and Data Management Core (BDMC) of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The Deputy Director will participate in an academic/hospital setting and manage a biostatistical and data management team of approximately 15 staff members responsible for the design, implementation, data collection, analysis, and reporting of multiple clinical trials and observational studies covering a wide range of medical areas. This position will be responsible for the overall daily management and allocation of resources for the team which includes serving as a liaison and collaborator with clients and investigators; developing and monitoring project timelines and budgets; and assuming final responsibility for ensuring that the biostatistical and data management procedures and deliverables are in compliance with project goals and objectives.
Position Qualifications:
The qualified candidate must have supervisory or team leadership experience and must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills. A total of 5 years of experience in the design and analysis of clinical research studies in an academic or hospital setting, pharmaceutical company, or clinical research organization is required. A minimum of a doctoral degree and 5 years of experience, or a master’s degree and 10 years of experience, is required in the area of biostatistics or other quantitative biomedical research field.
