Position Title: Instructor

Duties & Responsibilities: The Quantitative Sciences Unit in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University is seeking a highly motivated, hard-working and professional statistician to join their team. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of academic statisticians and database experts working on a wide variety of collaborative projects in medicine. This position holds excellent career development opportunities. The job entails collaborating with investigators in the Department of Medicine as the lead statistician on a variety of observational and experimental studies. The candidate must be experienced in the design and analysis of medical studies and will be responsible for overseeing data-related activities of numerous research projects, which also includes supervision of junior-level statisticians. Duties include designing and coordinating studies, analyzing data, interpreting findings, disseminating results, writing grants, consulting with clinical investigators and mentoring both junior-level statisticians and clinical investigators in research methods.

Position Qualifications: The applicant should hold a Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field. At least two years of experience collaborating on studies in medicine or public health is desirable. The applicant should have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience with multiple statistical programming languages such as SAS and R is required.
