Position Title:
Assistant Professor in Lifespan Developmental Methods
Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct research consistent with the quantitative methodological developments in the Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) program signature areas of risk and resilience across the lifespan, transitions across the lifecourse, and developmental and family research methods. Exhibit potential to secure external funds and provide methodological support for research in related substantive areas. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in quantitative research methodology. Advise graduate students in the department. Work collaboratively with faculty in HDFS and in other units, particularly within the College of Public Health and Human Sciences. Participate in service to the program, School, College and to the profession.
Position Qualifications:
PhD in biostatistics, HDFS, developmental psychology, psychology, sociology or a related field at the time of offer. We are interested in candidates whose methodological skills bridge two or more of our signature research areas. Expertise in one or more of the following is highly desirable: daily diary analysis, growth mixture modeling, missing values, dyadic analysis, and multilevel analysis. The successful candidate will be eligible for appointment at assistant professor rank and will demonstrate the ability to have a strong program of research, securing external funds, evidence of effective teaching, evidence of effective communication, and service to the profession. Relevant post-doctoral experience, and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity is preferred.
