Company Information: The Epidemiology and Biostatistics of Aging Training Program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is currently seeking pre-doctoral and postdoctoral fellows for support in the 2013-2014 academic year. All supported trainees engage in ongoing research in progress meetings and seminars on aging, and work with core faculty on existing or newly developed research projects on aging. This program addresses a critical need for the field of gerontology through its training of epidemiological and biostatistical scholars on aging. Trainees receive mentoring and training to become investigators who can conduct leading-edge epidemiological or biostatistical research to heighten the health of older populations, or develop, implement and evaluate prevention programs for the aging population.

Position Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Duties & Responsibilities: Postdoctoral fellows participate in on-going significant clinical and population-based research on aging and older adults across multiple institutions at Johns Hopkins. They acquire special expertise in conducting gerontological research in their specialty discipline under the guidance of a mentor. For some post-doctoral fellows, additional training can be acquired in coordination with a clinical fellowship training program. For some postdoctoral fellows, enrollment in a degree program to cross-disciplinarily supplement their primary training at the Master’s level may be appropriate.

Position Qualifications: Postdoctoral applicants will hold a Ph.D. in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or other quantitatively oriented population health field; or an M.D. with dedication to pursuit of geriatrics and development of methodological skills.
