Position Title:
Assistant Professor (non-tenure track)
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Department of Biostatistics at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health is seeking to recruit an assistant professor, non-tenure track, to join the Department. Eligible candidates must have the following qualifications: a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related discipline; a strong record of independent and collaborative research and teaching; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and a demonstrated interest in developing and applying statistical methods to important problems in biomedical and/or public health research. It is essential for the candidate to have expertise and experience in the following research areas: leading and managing a statistical consulting group, clinical trials, dose finding, statistical consulting, and clinical education. In addition, candidates must also have an outstanding record of independent and collaborative research and teaching; a substantial bibliography of peer-reviewed publications with a balanced combination of methodological and collaborative research contributions; and extensive experience collaborating on funded, peer-reviewed research in the health sciences.
Position Qualifications:
Doctorate or terminal professional degree Must have 3+ years of experience in teaching, managing a statistical consulting group and clinical trials. Excellent mathematical skills, communication skills, and collaborative skills.
