Position Title: Assistant, Associate or Full Professor

Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Health Policy and Management at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University invites applications for two faculty positions in Healthcare Management. Managerial Statistics/QuantitativeMethods: We seek candidates who have a doctorate in applied statistics, operations research, quantitative methods, management science, optimization, or a closely related field. The successful candidate will teach management statistics and quantitative methods courses to Masters degree graduate students. Particular emphasis is on statistics and their application in a healthcare management context, and a successful candidate should show evidence of prior work in, and knowledge of the health care field. This is a full-time, non-tenure track post at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. Health Systems Management/Social/Behavioral Science: We seek to hire a faculty member for a full-time, non-tenure track position at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise and experience teaching in one or more of the following areas: the organization and management of healthcare delivery systems [including existing public and private models and emergent models such as ACOs]; social/behavioral issues in the demand for and delivery of health care to populations [including such factors as the determinants of physical and/or mental health; ethnic/minority health and health disparities; and social epidemiology]. The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in social/behavioral science and advanced applied courses in healthcare systems organization and management for Masters students in health policy and management. The Department of Health Policy and Management is a multidisciplinary faculty that trains Masters and Doctoral level students. We maintain close ties with Columbia's Graduate School of Business, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and School of International and Public Affairs, and with many New York area health care delivery and research institutions.
