Position Title: Assistant Professor (Research) in Biostatistics

Duties & Responsibilities: The new faculty member will join the Department of Biostatistics at Brown and will be a member of the Center for Statistical Sciences. The successful candidate is expected to develop and lead an active program of research on statistical methods and to collaborate closely with researchers in ARCH and CFAR. Candidates must provide evidence of outstanding research potential and express strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. They must also show evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills and possess strong ability and interest in Departmental training activities such as advising graduate students. Key areas of methodologic interest include causal inference, analysis of intervention studies, methods for identification and evaluation of biomarkers, and methods for observational data, including comparative effectiveness analysis.

Position Qualifications: The Department of Biostatistics at Brown University is seeking candidates with outstanding potential for high-quality scholarship in the development and application of innovative statistical methods, with focus on applications in HIV, alcohol research, and behavioral sciences. The candidate will play a prominent role in the research activities of the Alcohol Research Center for HIV (ARCH) and the Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), both nationally-prominent, NIH-funded HIV research centers at Brown.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000
