The Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Scholars in Statistical Genetics. This research scholar position provides full funding without any teaching requirements at a competitive salary for up to 2 years beginning August 2013.
Position Title:
Postdoctoral Research Scholar
Duties & Responsibilities:
The employees’ responsibilities will include the development and application of new statistical approaches to perform large-scale inference on random fields, medical images, astronomical images, networks or climate model maps. Additionally, they will mentor graduate students on using such methods, and will write joint grants with Dr. Schwartzman.
Position Qualifications:
A PhD in statistics, genetics, toxicology or computer science is required. Criteria for selection include demonstrated research ability in statistical genetics and an interest in pharmacogenomics and dose response. Verbal and written communication skills are also important. Women and members of under-represented minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply.
