Company Information: The candidate will join the more than seventy investigators at the internationally recognized Magee-Womens Research Institute, one of the largest institutes worldwide that focuses entirely on reproductive biology, women’s and infant's health. Clinical, translational or basic research areas in reproductive biology and medicine are diverse, and include pregnancy, prenatal genetics and ultrasound, general women’s health, fertility and hormones, infectious diseases, family planning, pelvic floor disorders, oncology, and reproductive development. Intense translational and clinical research bridges basic advances to diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive approaches to clinical problems.

Position Title: Biostatstician (junior faculty)

Duties & Responsibilities: Work will include assisting researchers in developing experimental design and data collection methodologies, planning analysis strategies, and managing and interpreting data. In addition, the candidate will assist in preparing summary reports and graphics for presentations and publications of study results. The ideal energetic and motivated candidate will demonstrate flexible and innovative approaches to problem-solving, and exhibit good oral and written communications skills. The selected candidate will hold the appointment of Research Instructor or Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, at a level commensurate with experience.

Position Qualifications: Candidates must hold a PhD and preferably completed at least three years of postdoctoral training. Computer skills and experience should preferably include SPSS or SAS, and the ability to use MATLAB SPlus/R, as well as Microsoft Access, SQL, and alike for basic data management tasks. Programming skills, including the use of java/c++ or perl, and a bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as computer science or mathematics are an advantage. A desire to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment, to participate in scholarly activities, and to teach graduate, post-graduate and medical trainees is expected.
