Position Title:
Post-Doctoral Research Associate, Molecular Epidemiology
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Department of Epidemiology at Brown University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Department of Epidemiology and the Public Health Program. The Program will become a School of Public Health in 2013. The successful candidate will be able to conduct methodological and collaborative research in statistical genomics with applications in genome- and epigenome-wide studies of cancer and chronic diseases, including studies of lung, head and neck, bladder tumors and asthma.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a PhD in statistics/biostatistics/bioinformatics/genetic epidemiology or other quantitative fields. Individuals with the following skills are encouraged to apply: excellent quantitative and applied research skills in methodology development and data analysis, demonstrated proficiency in programming with programming language (e.g., C++, Java, Python) or statistical language (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, Matlab), and strong oral and written communication skills. Experience in biological dataset, genomic data, or high-dimensional data and knowledge in biology and genetics/genomics is preferred but not required.
