Position Title: Assistant Professor of Statistics

Duties & Responsibilities: The Lawrence University Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for a tenure-track position in statistics starting September 2014. The department seeks an excellent teacher and active scholar who is committed to providing talented undergraduates with a transformative education. Lawrence University is a highly selective liberal arts college with 1500 students located in Appleton, Wisconsin. The normal teaching load is two courses per term for three ten-week terms a year, including participation in Lawrence's signature Freshman Studies program on a rotating basis. The successful applicant will be expected to teach both introductory statistics and upper level courses of their own design. In addition to these regularly scheduled courses, all Lawrence faculty enjoy the freedom to teach advanced subjects and specialized material through independent study and tutorial work with highly motivated and interested students. Competitive start-up funds will be available.

Position Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in statistics or a closely related field by August 2014.
