Company Information: The Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics (B&B) at Duke University is conducting a search for candidates for multiple faculty positions in areas of research in the Duke Cancer Institute, Duke Clinical Research Institute and the Biostatistics Core. B&B faculty members take leadership roles in cutting edge research at one of the nation’s foremost medical research enterprises. The department currently has 51 faculty members collaborating closely with both clinical and basic science investigators. Duke University is located in Durham, North Carolina

Position Title: Open Rank Faculty Positions-Biostatistics

Duties & Responsibilities: The faculty statistician will collaborate with clinical investigators on one or more of a number of initiatives, both federally and industry supported, that are in need of statistical leadership. In addition to general statistical experience, there is an opportunity for expertise in one or more of the following areas: design and analysis of NIH-sponsored and/or FDA compliant clinical trials, statistical modeling with applications to risk prediction and assessment of novel biomarkers, statistical methodology for analysis of epidemiological data including electronic health records. Experience in pharmacoepidemiology is also desirable.

Position Qualifications: Candidates are expected to have a PhD degree in biostatistics or a related field, experience as a collaborating statistician on a variety of study designs, experience in SAS/R/S-Plus software/programming, and excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation). The candidate must be a highly self-motivated individual, enthusiastic about scientific discovery and able to collaborate closely and effectively with other members of a research team.
