Position Title:
Statistical Genomics Postdoctoral Fellow
Duties & Responsibilities:
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to conduct cutting-edge methodology research in the fields of statistical genomics and computational biology. The postdoctoral fellow will develop statistical methods and computational tools to elucidate the variation and dynamics of mRNA isoform expression using deep RNA sequencing and related genomic technologies. The successful candidate will be advised by Prof. Yi Xing in the UCLA Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics (http://www.mimg.ucla.edu/faculty/xing/) and Prof. Qing Zhou in the Department of Statistics (http://www.stat.ucla.edu/~zhou/).
Position Qualifications:
We are looking for enthusiastic and career-oriented applicants with superb experience and strong publication record in statistical genetics and genomics, computational biology, or related fields. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid computational/experimental lab with outstanding resources and capabilities for data production and experimental validation. He/she will also have ample opportunities to interact with world-class collaborators in the fields of statistics, biomedical sciences, and RNA biology.
