Position Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Biostatistics in the Division of Quantitative Sciences at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has one open position for a postdoctoral fellow to work in computational statistics and statistical modeling with applications in biostatistics and bioinformatics. The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Professors Francesco Stingo and Brian Hobbs. The primary research focus will be developing statistical and computational methodology for the analysis of novel high-throughput data.

Position Qualifications: We seek a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. in statistics/biostatistics/computer science or a related quantitative field. Candidates must have strong methodology training in statistics/biostatistics; strong programming skills, in particular R/S-PLUS or Matlab; and interest in statistical methodology research. Interest in bioinformatics is a plus. Experience and skills in the following areas are desirable: MCMC computation, adaptive clinical trial design, survival analysis, Bayesian hierarchical models, graphical models, statistical computation, analysis of bioinformatics data, and medical research applications.

Salary Range: $ 65,000
