Soochow University, Center for Advanced Statistics and Econometrics Research
Company Information: Faculty positions are available at all levels in the newly established Center for Advanced Statistics and Econometrics Research at Soochow University in Suzhou, China. All areas of statistics/econometrics research will be considered, with preference given to those that serve the Center’s long term goal, which is to foster cutting-edge research in statistics and econometrics, to promote the wide use of statistics in interdisciplinary collaboration and society in general. Members of the center will conduct research within the center, and teach in the School of Mathematical Sciences. Founded in 1900, Soochow University is a time-honored institution, and one of China’s oldest. It is located in the city of Suzhou, known as “heaven on earth”, which is half hour away from Shanghai by high speed rail. Position Title: Tenure-track assistant/associate professor or tenured full professor.

Duties & Responsibilities: Research, teaching, graduate student supervision. Ability to teach in Chinese is highly preferred but not required.

Position Qualifications: Ph. D. in Statistics, Econometrics or related fields, strong research record, effective communication skills and commitment to excellent teaching.

Salary Range: The package of salary, housing allowances, and start-up grant will be very competitive by Chinese standard, commensurate with experiences.
