Position Title: Research Stat Programmer Analyst III

Duties & Responsibilities: This Statistical Programmer Analyst III position will focus on the utilization of programming skills to identify patient cohorts, for data extraction from various source systems, develop electronic data capture systems and conduct data integrations to automate data collection efforts. This involves interacting with others from the Section of Biostatistics to provide comprehensive support to research teams. Must possess the knowledge and demonstrated use of clinical research methodologies, data-driven decision-making, and utilization of IT strategies to meet research needs. Extensive knowledge of SAS, SQL, HTML, statistical programming, object-oriented programming, database software, and different operating systems required. Fosters a strong a collaborative environment. Provides mentoring and coaching as appropriate. Able to translate business functional requirements into technical specifications. Assists in the identification and assessment of potential data sources and elements. Will be working on multiple projects at any one time, stressing a customer-focused approach that includes consistent and timely communication. Demonstrates flexibility by changing work roles as needed. May ultimately include the supervision of staff.

Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with a major in statistics/biostatistics, or math or computer science with experience/course work in applied statistics required. At least six years experience as a Statistical Programmer Analyst at Mayo, or similar experience elsewhere in computer programming and use of software packages for data management and statistical analysis. Proven written and oral communication skills are essential. Ability to think logically and systematically analyze and evaluate alternate solutions in problem-solving required. Proven competency to work independently preferred. Knowledge of current medical developments and terminology also desirable.
