The Department of Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Biomathematics is an academic department within Georgetown University Medical Center. The department offers a Masters of Science program in Biostatistics, and provides consulting expertise to the Georgetown community with respect to the design and data analysis of clinical trials, basic science, genomics, proteomics and metabolomics data analysis, and population science research projects. The department has 10 faculty members, 2 staff biostatisticians, and a strong administrative staff. The department also serves as an essential component of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center whose Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource is housed in the Department. The Cancer Center research programs cover the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer through innovative basic and clinical research, patient care, and community education and outreach.
Position Title:
Biostatistician
Duties & Responsibilities:
Georgetown University invites applications for a well-qualified Biostatistician for the Department of Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Biomathematics. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in biostatistical methodology, proficient with statistical programming packages, and possess good oral and written communication skills. Under general direction of a faculty biostatistician, this individual will provide biostatistical consultation and collaboration on the design, conduct, analysis and interpretation of research projects with a cancer focus. The individual will prepare monthly monitoring reports for the institution’s cancer clinical trials, as well as reports and analyses of research projects both for scientific papers and grant proposals related to clinical trials. The candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or related fields, be proficient in SAS and R, have at least 2 years-experience with biostatistical aspects of medical research projects, and some experience in a consulting environment.
