Position Title: Assistant Professor in Biostatistics

Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Biology in the College of Science, Health & Engineering at Eastern Washington University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biostatistics to begin mid-September 2013. The Department of Biology seeks a candidate who complements the strengths of our faculty in scholarship and teaching, and who reinforces our commitment to enhancing diversity. Teaching duties include graduate classes in biostatistics in coordination with a newly proposed program in Public Health, upper level undergraduate classes in biostatistics for Biology majors, and electives in the candidate's area of specialization. Other teaching assignments might include participation in core Biology undergraduate and graduate-level classes. Additional responsibilities include developing and sustaining a productive research program supported by external funding; supervising and mentoring of Master's theses and undergraduate research; advising undergraduate students; and becoming professionally engaged with the local community. The Biology Department includes a diverse faculty and over 450 majors and Masters-level graduate students focusing on ecological, molecular, physiological, microbial, and health sciences.
