This position is an Epidemiologist assigned to the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) with the Department of Public Health and Human Services. Epidemiologist BRFSS
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Epidemiologist studies the occurrence of disease and other health-related conditions or events in defined populations in order to implement prevention and control measures. This position is responsible for management and analyses of Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) data. Responsibilities include: 1) Analyzing surveillance data such as health indicators, risk factors, and disease surveillance information; 2) Analyzing programmatic and service-related data; 3) Designing, coordinating, and managing special surveillance and/or evaluation procedures where there is no other existing data available; 4) Developing and conducting various trainings related to epidemiological and program evaluation issues; and 5) Designing and conducting program evaluations.
Position Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, or a closely related degree. Three years of job related experience in epidemiology. Experience in Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System or other population based surveillance programs preferred. Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Salary Range:
24.46-25.99 hourly, Depending on qualifications and internal equity.
