The Department of Biostatistics in the College of Public Health at The University of Iowa invites applications at the rank of Clinical-track Assistant Professor. The successful candidates for these positions will be involved in teaching, service, and research. The Department of Biostatistics currently includes 14 primary faculty, 8 secondary faculty, and approximately 40 graduate students. The Department offers MS and PhD degrees in Biostatistics, as well as an MPH degree specializing in Biostatistics. Position Title:
Assistant Professor, Clinical-track
Duties & Responsibilities:
A non-tenure track faculty position is available for an individual with an interest in collaborative clinical trials. The Department of Biostatistics is home to several faculty members with expertise in clinical trials, along with the Clinical Trials Statistical and Data Management Center (CTSDMC). The CTSDMC has a demonstrated history of facilitating the development and implementation of multi-center clinical trials and large epidemiological studies. The CTSDMC has approximately 36 full-time staff, 8 faculty collaborators, and is currently serving as the data coordinating center (DCC) for NIH and foundation funded studies in diabetes, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, hypertension, orthopedics and psychiatry. It is also the DCC for NeuroNEXT, a collaborative group designing and implementing phase 2 trials for innovative therapies for neurological conditions. The clinical track position in clinical trials is for an individual with an interest in collaborating and supporting CTSDMC projects. Experience in clinical trials is desired. Position Qualifications:
A PhD or equivalent in biostatistics, statistics, or a related area, as well as evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills. This position requires the potential for excellence in collaborative research related to clinical trials and the potential for excellence in teaching.
