Company Information: The Culverhouse College of Commerce at The University of Alabama invites applications for two (2) tenure track faculty positions in Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor starting August 16, 2013 or earlier if applicable. The Applied Statistics program at The University of Alabama supports both an M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Applied Statistics. The program also offers a Business Analytics concentration in the MBA program as well as a specialization in Business Analytics for undergraduate business majors. The program benefits from strong relationships with leading companies in the field of Business Analytics such as SAS.

Position Title: Assistant Professor of Statistics

Duties & Responsibilities: In addition to conducting and directing scholarly research in the field of statistics, the position will involve teaching at the undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. levels. Candidates with research and teaching interests in business analytics and data mining are especially encouraged to apply. The starting salary will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments with a minimum base of $100,000. In addition, $15,000 will be provided for each summer for two years to support summer research.

Position Qualifications: Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field before starting the position.

Salary Range: Minimum base of $100,000
