Company Information: Oregon State University invites applicants for an anticipated full-time (1.0 FTE), 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Quantitative Methods. It is anticipated this position will start Fall term 2013, however the actual term start may winter 2013. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience. The College of Business has 2198 undergraduate majors, 659 minors and 90 graduate students. The College of Business joins with other departments and colleges in new initiatives to respond to the needs and concerns of OSU's increasingly multicultural student body, and to join the ranks of top tier colleges of business across North America in teaching excellence, cutting edge research, industry partnerships and community service.

Position Title: Assistant Professor Quantitative Methods

Duties & Responsibilities: 45% Teaching - high-quality teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses in business statistics and quantitative methods. 45% Research - scientific investigations that lead to the publication of scholarly work. 10% Service - participate actively as a member of the university community: on administrative committees, search committees, university governance activities and student advising. Also as a member of one's professional community

Position Qualifications: Required qualifications include: (1) A doctoral degree in business statistics or closely related quantitative field by the start of the appointment from an accredited university. (2) Evidence of excellent scholarly record of or potential for cross-disciplinary business research. (3) Evidence of effective teaching experience at the university level commensurate with job requirements. (4) Strong oral and written communication skills. Preferred qualifications include: (1) A research program that aligns with the mission of the college. (2) Relevant professional non-academic work experience and ability to develop strong linkages with the business community. (3) Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
