Position Title: Assistant Professor of Statistics

Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Statistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for two tenure-track assistant professors (100% for 9 months). The target starting date is August 16, 2013. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Applicants must have a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field at the time of appointment and demonstrate the potential for excellent research and high quality teaching. All areas of Statistics are welcome. We especially encourage applications from candidates with strong interests in computational statistics, broadly defined, or in statistical theory and methods. The succssful candidate will be expected to conduct independent methodological research, teach both introductory and advanced statistics courses, advise graduate students, and be active in service for the department, university and professional societies.
