Position Title: Associate Research Scientist

Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Biostatistics of Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health seeks a qualified Associate Research Scientist to work alongside a principle investigator whose work focuses on methodological and applied research in statistical genetics. More specifically, the principal investigator's work focuses on developing statistical and computational methods for population-based and family-based designs for next generation sequencing data. Application areas include the genetics of psychiatric disorders. We seek a research with a doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, computer science or other quantitative field. Preference will be given to applicants with very strong programming skills in R and/or C and will a strong quantitative background and a strong interest in applications to genetics.

Position Qualifications: Doctorate or terminal professional degree. Professional experience in a relevant field. Possess experience in Biostatistics. Strong quantitative research background and very strong programming skills in R and/or C. Public health experience preferred.
