Position Title:
Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Statistics
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City seeks applicants for a nine-month tenure-track assistant professor position, in Statistics (00054406), to start on August 15, 2013. Statisticians whose research emphasizes are in bioinformatics, biomedical research, biostatistics, or statistical genetics are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and must demonstrate strong potential to succeed in both teaching and research. The candidate hired for this position is expected to contribute to the department's efforts of enhancing collaborative research, in the spirit of the interdisciplinary PhD program of the University. Responsibilities will mainly include teaching undergraduate and graduate core statistics courses and some mathematics courses, advising students, conducting research in mathematical sciences, and providing services to the department and the university.
Position Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph. D. in Statistics or in Mathematics with Statistics as the emphasis by August 2013.
