Position Title: Tenure Track Assistant Professor (2 positions)

Duties & Responsibilities: Department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, School of Public Health and Information Sciences, University of Louisville (http://louisville.edu/sphis/bb/) is inviting applications for two tenure track faculty positions at the level of assistant professor starting Fall of 2013. First Position (Job Opening ID 28505): Duties include but are not limited to conducting high quality methodological and collaborative research in biostatistics, taking part in various grants and consulting initiatives and teaching in the departmental graduate and/or undergraduate programs. Second Position (Job Opening ID 28609): Duties include but are not limited to maintaining a very active high quality collaborative research program in biostatistics with all units in health sciences and other academic programs, conducting methodological research in biostatistics, taking part in various grants and consulting initiatives, and teaching in the departmental and school based graduate and/or undergraduate programs. While strong candidates from all research areas will be considered, we prefer candidates whose research areas are complementary to those of the existing faculty. The department currently maintains very successful MS and doctoral programs in biostatistics with a strong methodological component. It also takes part in a school based public health masters program.

Position Qualifications: Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in biostatistics, statistics, or a closely related discipline. Screening of applications will begin on December 01, 2012 for the first position and January 01, 2013 for the second position, and continue until the positions are filled.
