statistician, specialized in risk management
Duties & Responsibilities:
Job summary Safety Line develops statistical algorithms for data mining of massive dataset in order to contribute to solving complex problems such as the detection of "weak signals" in anticipation of disasters. In this perspective, Safety Line associates statistical skills with expertise in risk management, to elaborate innovative software solutions, connected to information systems. The permanent position is offered in the context of the development of a risk management software for use by operators facing mass risks. Within the research & development team, you participate to: -The development of the statistical methods for the automated analysis of data such as those recorded by planes or those collected by surveillance instruments of machines (wind turbines, drills, etc.), in order to extract relevant information for models of risk management; -The integration of these methods in a software dedicated to Business Intelligence. Work responsibilities -within the framework of proofs of concept, implement statistical algorithms for the analysis of temporal multivariate series (in particular in the scope of supervised classification); -Compare the performances of the various solutions applicable to a specific risk; -Optimize computation time in association with the team of IT developers; -Interface these methods of analysis with models of risk management; -Contribute to the software integration of the data processing methodologies.
Position Qualifications:
-PhD in statistics or other relevant, closely related field required (statistical physics for instance); -Operational experience of complex statistical problems would be appreciated; -Proficient with programming language C & C++; -Good knowledge of relational database (SQL); -Useful skills: knowledge of NoSQL database and experience in HPC.
Salary Range:
47 k€ + bonus.
