The Victorian Centre for Biostatistics (ViCBiostat) is a collaborative cross-institutional venture led by biostatisticians at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI), the University of Melbourne and Monash University (Melbourne, Australia). Appointments at post-doctoral level form the core workforce of this cross-institutional centre, with the broad aim of fostering the careers of a new generation of biostatistical leaders around an integrated program of methodological and collaborative research. We are seeking individuals with a PhD in statistics or a closely related discipline who wish to develop a career combining research in biostatistical methodology with applications in population health. This position is based at the MCRI, which is the preeminent child health research institute in Australia, and is recognised globally for its child health discoveries. The successful applicant will be expected to develop their own research program, preferably related to one or more of the ViCBiostat research themes led by Professor John Carlin and Associate Professor Michael Coory. Collaborative engagement with research in paediatrics and child and adolescent health at the MCRI will be strongly encouraged.
