The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Montclair State University includes undergraduate programs in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Physics, and Master’s programs in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Statistics and the Ed.D. in Mathematics Pedagogy. There are thirty-two full-time faculty in the department. Montclair State University is the second largest public university in New Jersey and is located 15 miles west of New York City in close proximity to major pharmaceutical, financial, and research centers.
Position Title:
Full/Associate/Assistant Professor Statistics - V#F21
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position in Statistics with an interest in Biostatistics or Data Mining. Candidates are expected to be active scholars and have a strong commitment to quality teaching in a broad range of courses at the undergraduate to graduate level. This position supports undergraduate and graduate programs in statistics as well as service courses. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be actively involved in the development of Professional Science Masters (Mathematical Modeling, Health Care Analytics), as well as supporting the Margaret and Herman Sokol Institute for Pharmaceutical Life Sciences, Doctoral Programs, the MPH program, transdisciplinary activities, programs in the College of Science and Mathematics and the University. All candidates should provide a record of scholarly publication, research and teaching success. Candidates are expected to participate in departmental, university and professional activities and to perform research that will allow the generation of competitive grant proposals.
Position Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics is required.
