Position Title: Assistant Professor

Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Statistics & Biostatistics at Rutgers University seeks to hire one faculty member at the rank of tenure track assistant professor. We are particularly interested in candidates with research and teaching interests in “big data” – problems concerning data whose scale and diversity challenge the theory and practice of statistics and/or computer science. Candidates conducting their research in domains such as biomedical informatics, business, climate and environment, engineering, imaging and multimedia, and social analytics are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in statistics or a related field by the start of fall semester 2013. Responsibilities of the position include conducting research, establishing an external research funding program, teaching, and academic advising.
