Position Title:
Assistant Professor
Duties & Responsibilities:
The College of Arts and Sciences at American University (Washington, DC) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-line, Assistant Professor position, beginning in August 2013, in computational neuroscience (broadly defined, including but not limited to neural networks, simulation, image processing, and bio-informatics). Teaching and post-doctoral experience are preferred. Responsibilities include: teaching and curriculum development; establishing an internationally recognized research program, preferably one that can involve undergraduate research participation; strengthening connections to neurosciences across campus; and service to the appointee's home department and the wider university.
Position Qualifications:
The appointee's tenure home and departmental affiliation will depend on his or her research background, but we are most interested in applicants who would have at least a joint affiliation with the Department of Computer Science. Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant discipline.
