Position Title:
Assistant Professor of Statistics
Duties & Responsibilities:
Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and , graduate courses, sustain an active biostatistics or statistics methodological and interdisciplinary research and publication agenda, and seek external funding. Other duties will include advising Ph.D. students, statistical consulting, and serving on department, college, and university committees. WMU encourages interdisciplinary research and there will be opportunities for collaborative research with other departments as well as with the newly established medical school.
Position Qualifications:
Successful candidates are required to have a Ph.D. degree in biostatistics or statistics, excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching, and to maintaining an outstanding research program in biostatistics or statistics methodology. While all areas in biostatistics/statistics will be considered, having expertise in spatial biostatistics and/or statistical computing will be a plus.
