We are currently seeking a statistician (Biostatistics/informatics role) in our Center for Clinical and Research Informatics (CCRI) group. The person will be primary responsible for projects originated from Surgical Research Office but will be part of a team responsible for the design, implementation, and analysis of multiple clinical trials and other health-related studies covering a wide range of medical areas. This is a doctoral position in biostatistics/Informatics to be supervised by Dr. Yuan Ji, Director of Cancer Informatics. Responsibilities include but not limited to *Perform statistical analyses for a variety of clinical research activities. *Develop data collection forms. *Create analysis datasets from a variety of file formats, e.g., ASCII files, relational database tables, spreadsheets. *Develop and implement randomization plans. *Assist in the development of research designs and statistical analysis plans. *Assist in the development and implementation of data management and quality assurance procedures. *Provide professional research support, including assistance in the preparation of manuscripts, reports, abstracts, protocols and grants. Successful candidates are expected (but not required) to possess skills in Bayesian adaptive designs and/or experiences in dealing with large-scale complex genomics data sets, such as next-generation sequencing data. Computational skills and experiences beyond R and Matlab is also desirable. This position is located in Evanston, IL with easy access to the CTA and METRA. Our ideal candidate will have: • PhD Degree in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, or computer sciences. • Must have knowledge of research design and statistical analysis methods, and expertise in programming and computing (SAS and R). • Analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and deductive reasoning skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
