Position Title:
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Duties & Responsibilities:
This position announcement is for a post-doctoral research fellow in a research project that focuses on the spatio - temporal model-based methods for monitoring of large multivariate geo-referenced health databases. This position will involve the development and application of new statistical approaches to detection of disease clusters and infectious disease outbreaks in space-time. The position holder will report directly to Professor Andrew Lawson, Division of Biostatistics & Epidemiology, Department of Medicine. This is a two year appointment.
Position Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics. Publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific and professional meetings are expected and encouraged. Desired skills include proficiency in statistical computing (preferably in R), and knowledge of spatial statistics, and Bayesian models/MCMC techniques. Familiarity with GIS would be a plus.
