Position Title: Assistant or Associate Professor - Mathematics and Statistics

Duties & Responsibilities: The Departments of Mathematics and Statistics at Iowa State University invite applications for a faculty position whose research area is probability theory. The selected candidate will teach, conduct and publish research, direct graduate students and pursue funding opportunities to support scholarship. The new faculty member will have a joint position in both departments. This position can be filled at the level of tenure-track assistant professor or tenured associate professor beginning August 16, 2013.

Position Qualifications: For consideration at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor, a PhD in Mathematics or Statistics and evidence of outstanding competence and promise in research and teaching. In addition, must have published research in probability theory as it relates to statistics and/or stochastic processes and their applications. For consideration at the rank of tenured associate professor, exceptionally qualified candidates must, in addition to the above, have a proven excellent record of research in probability, including evidence of external funding. Preference may be given to candidates with demonstrated research initiatives beyond the candidate’s dissertation topics.
