Duties & Responsibilities:
The Department of Quantitative Health Sciences (JJN3-01) at the Cleveland Clinic main campus is searching for a doctoral level medical researcher who has a broad knowledge of clinical medicine from the direct patient care perspective. The successful candidate will join an active group of 100 biostatisticians, analysts, and programmers working in a wide range of statistical fields. Candidates must have excellent writing and verbal proficiency with the English language and the ability/willingness to collaborate with colleagues from a wide range of research disciplines.
Position Qualifications:
Job Requirements -PhD in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or related discipline. -MD with at least 5 years of direct patient care experience Must have an active medical license to practice medicine in the state of Ohio and be board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. -Experience using Electronic Health Records (Epic background preferred) -Competency using biostatistical software to perform statistical analyses independently. Experience with R preferred. The successful candidate will serve as a bridge between information technology, biostatistics, and clinical research in the retrieval of research data from the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Therefore, the individual must have excellent social skills and be comfortable communicating with both physicians and biostatisticians using technical terminology. The candidate will be expected to help write research proposals, grant proposals, research papers, and technical documentation regarding the conduct of research with EHR data. Some independent PhD level methodology research in a related area is expected.
