The Yale Center for Analytical Sciences (YCAS) is accepting applications at the level of Associate Research Scientist in the Division of Biostatistics, Yale School of Public Health to collaborate with clinical investigators at the Yale Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Position Title:
Associate Research Scientist
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the position include: 1) providing expert biostatistical consultation and collaboration on study design, implementation, analysis and the preparation of protocols, grants and manuscripts for multiple projects; 2) planning and performing comprehensive analyses for many types of cancer studies; 3) training clinical faculty in the principles of biostatistics and study design; 4) providing statistical reviews for the Cancer Center’s Protocol Review Committee and 5) attending investigator research meetings in different cancer disease groups. Some supervision of support staff may be required.
Position Qualifications:
Applicants should have a PhD by the start of appointment in statistics, biostatistics or a closely related field. This position requires the ability to do collaborative research with clinician scientists in the Cancer Center. Experience in the design and analysis of cancer related research studies is essential. The ability to work independently on several different projects with a range of investigators across a variety of clinical disciplines is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills along with proficiency with statistical computer languages such as SAS, R, S-plus etc. are a must.
Salary Range:
Contingent on education and experience.
